The Board of Directors of the Nebraska Christian Home Educators Association invites you to participate in the annual Graduate Recognition held Friday, April 4, 2008, during the evening program of the NCHEA Conference & Curriculum Fair (C&CF). We are excited about what you have accomplished and want to recognize your achievements.
Graduate Questionnaire
To participate in Graduate Recognition, you must return answers to the GRADUATE QUESTIONNAIRE to nchea@nchea.net before February 15. Please remember to write out your verse and to list family members who will be attending the graduate recognition.
Graduate Recognition Appearance Standards and Rehearsal
The Recognition and the participating graduates are representatives of home education. In keeping with this formal occasion, the NCHEA’s appearance standards for participation include: no body piercing, no vivid hair color, no immodest dress, and no excessive make-up or jewelry. (Romans 12:1; 1st Corinthians 8:9). If you are going to participate in the Recognition, you and your parents must be in the auditorium by 5:00 PM for a brief rehearsal. Upon arrival please check-in at the registration table.
Guidelines for Graduate Recognition Dress Code
Timothy 4:12 - "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity."
Our goal in setting forth these guidelines is to provide Christian guidance as we all strive to be good stewards in regard to our personal Christian testimony and that of NCHEA. The goal of the NCHEA Graduate Recognition if to bring honor to God for the work that He has done in the lives of home educating families. We request that the dress of the graduates reflect Christian modesty and that it does not distract or detract from this important occasion. *For men:*
Young men should follow the specific minimum standards of (I Timothy 2:9):
The general fit/fabric of the outfit needs to conform to modest Christian standards. Young men should wear a collared dress shirt and dress pants with a belt. A jacket and tie is appropriate. No undergarments should be visible.
*For women:*
Young women should follow the specific minimum standards of (Proverbs 31:10; I Timothy 2:9):
The general fit/fabric of the outfit needs to conform to modest Christian standards. Dresses and skirts should be at least knee length, shoulders should be covered with no strapless or spaghetti strap tops, no plunging necklines with cleavage revealed, no deep plunging backlines with more than half the back exposed, no bare midriffs, no undergarments should be visible, and nothing can be transparent.
*Unacceptable Attire:*
The following attire is not acceptable: jeans, denim wear, tee shirts, athletic wear, tank, halter, or jogging tops, shorts, baseball caps, sneakers, extremely casual or beach footwear, no body piercing, no vivid hair color, and no excessive make-up or jewelry.
Fees
If the graduate's parents have paid admission to the C&CF, there are no costs for the graduate to participate in the Recognition. If the parents are not registered to attend the C&CF, the fee to participate in the Recognition is $55.00, payable to the NCHEA.
This Recognition participation fee or the parents’ C&CF registration and the questionnaire must be received by February 15, 2008, due to printer deadlines, etc..

Guests
Graduates participating in the Recognition may invite guests in addition to immediate family members to attend the Recognition. Please inform your invited guests that they will not be permitted to attend any other C&CF activities, e.g. the exhibit hall, workshops etc. unless they have paid the C&CF admission fee. Guests will be admitted after 6:45 PM when the Curriculum Fair closes. Non-paying guests will not receive a C&CF program/syllabus.
