About

Mission Statement

The NCHEA is a volunteer driven, non-profit organization founded in 1986 to encourage and support Christian families in the education of their children at home in accordance with Biblical principles and to support the rights of Christian parents to homeschool their children.

What is the NCHEA?

The NCHEA was founded in 1986 under the name Nebraska Home Educators Association. In 1993, the name was changed to Nebraska Christian Home Educators Association (NCHEA) to more effectively identify the fundamental principles on which the leadership of the NCHEA functions and its mission to serve Nebraska Christian homeschooling families. The NCHEA is a non-profit 501(c)(4) corporation.

NCHEA leadership is comprised of Christian homeschool families, all volunteers, who support the NCHEA's Statement of Faith and Statement of Position and believe in homeschooling. The Bible and its principles serve as the foundation on which the leadership functions.

The NCHEA's Mission includes the encouragement and support of Christian families in the education of their children at home in accordance with Biblical principles (Proverbs 22:6 and Ephesians 6:4), the support and advocacy of the rights of Christian parents to homeschool their children, and the promotion of the benefits of Christian home education.

NCHEA monitors legislation, legal, and political issues on state and national levels that affect homeschooling families and parental rights.

NCHEA is an organization for parents and others who promote the benefits of home education and support the rights of parents to teach their children at home.

We encourage you to join hundreds of homeschooling families from across Nebraska who share in the benefits of NCHEA membership. Your membership is important in strengthening the impact of the NCHEA and its leaders with elected officials.

And, fathers, do not provoke your children to anger; but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. - Ephesians 6:4
